This page gives very short descriptions of the sensor codes and what kind of hardware is behind them. Each one has a "Sensor Type" link. Follow that link for more information on a particular type of sensor.

Contents

0x00 Temperature

Sensor Type: Resistive

This is a 10k NTC thermistor with a 100k bias resistor.

Note:

Use 0x02 setting over this one for general temperature sensing. The middle of its range is more in the middle of the AtoD converter. This is deprecated and will go away. The new software has the bias resistor value in the calibration constants, so 0x02 will be used for this thermistor and whatever bias resistor it has.

Acceptable Parts

  • BC Components #2381 640 66103
  • BC Components #2322 640 66103

0x01 Bale Moisture

Sensor Type: Bale Moisture

These are the custom designed bale moisture sensors made by Paul. They have been discontinued due to them being very hard to manufacture consistantly.

0x02 Temperature

Sensor Type: Resistive

This is a 10k NTC thermistor with a 10k bias resistor.

Note:

Use this setting over the 0x00 setting for general temperature sensing. The middle of its range is better more in the middle of the AtoD converter.

Acceptable Parts

  • BC Components #2322 640 66103

0x03 Bale Moisture

Sensor Type: Bale Moisture

0x10 Voltage Sensor 1.1v reference

Sensor Type: Voltage Sensors

0x20 Capacitance

Sensor Type: Capacitive

This is a generic capacitance measure. It can take anything capacitive sensor and retuns the capacitance. Any device that has capacitance can theoretically be measured by it.

0x30 Light

Sensor Type: Light

0x40 Voltage

0x50 Current

0x70 Pulse Counter

Sensor Type: Pulse Counter

0x71 Pulse Counter

Sensor Type: Pulse Counter

0x6F Wind Direction

Sensor Type: Wind Direction
