Our air conditioner doesn't look like the typical AC units you see today. It was made from stuff we had laying around...specifically an old furnace fan and a couple of a-frames from old AC units. Cold ground water circulates through the a-frames and cools the warm air pulled into the unit through the filter on top. The resulting cool air is blown out into the building and the warmed water exits the building into a garden area. It does a great job of keeping things cool and operates for about the same cost as running a fan.
