![]() Constructed out of straw bales and cob (an earthen plaster made of sand, clay and straw), Old Main was the first attempt at a sustainable building and combines some of the oldest natural building techniques with current technology. Building design and orientation allow maximum use of passive solar to maintain comfortable temperatures year round.
