This summer, it seems like we have been doing more de-construction than construction.
Last winter we built a temporary greenhouse that covered half of the front of the building and tested solar gain.

It served its purpose, taught us what we wanted to learn, so last week we removed it.
Big stacks of stored big straw bales have been disassembled. The good bales went into the big-top tent. The bad bales are being used to create a long line of composting bins. (This seems to have the side effect of enthusing a local guy who has something akin to a mandate from God to be in the compost business. More power to him! I hope it helps.)
Last fall we built a 12 foot high strawbale shed to allow us to sculpt an artistic cob outdoor furnace. This week we dis-assembled it. (That particular furnace/sculpture didn\'t get built. Maybe another time.)

Bob and Scott disassembling the sculpting shed. The back yard looks much less cluttered without it.
