Ray built a couple of boxes for our square foot gardens based on the book Square Foot Gardening by Mel Bartholomew.  The theory behind square foot gardening is that you will get the same yields in much less space as traditional row gardens and they are a lot less work.  

This square foot garden will have 14 different plant varieties planted when it's done.  So far the box is sporting peas, radish, carrots, lettuce and broccoli.
